Chronology of cameras Bellieni
This single-lens 8 x 9 cm format jumelle camera appears in the "Annuaire de la Photographie" in 1898 at a price of FF 340 for the model with 24 plates , like this one , and FF 330 for 18 plates.
It could be "easily" modified later on into a stereo jumelle camera . By simply adding a lens and replacing the simple shutter by a dual one. " Indeed, it is built on the same body as the stereoscopic model.
The focus can be made up to 1.50 m in maneuvering a helical on the lens mount , by means of a lever.
The guillotine shutter is cocked by rotation of a large button , allowing for time exposure plus 5 instant exposure speeds through an adjustable system (No. 52)
The lens is easily removable to allow for diverging lens to be adapted in place transforming it into telephoto lens.
The small slide on the front gives access to a small box for receiving a bulb to trigger the shutter and a " fork shaped" system which was fixed on the two small screws on either side of the trigger.
There is a folding viewfinder with an eyepiece at rear . A mechanical counter displays the photos taken , up to 24 .
There are two tripod sockets with Congress thread.
